Your NBF Credit Card Upgrade – Important Update

As communicated in May 2026, we are upgrading your credit card as part of our ongoing commitment to enhancing your banking experience.

Your new credit card has been issued and dispatched. You will receive your replacement card free of charge before the transition date to ensure uninterrupted usage. Your current credit card will remain available for purchases (online and in-store) throughout this transition.

You do not need to wait to receive your physical card to activate it. Activation can be completed anytime via the NBF Direct App, even before delivery. If you are travelling, you can activate your new card remotely from anywhere in the world, ensuring uninterrupted access once your old card is blocked on 10 July 2026.

What You Need to Do

  • You can activate your new credit card on the NBF Direct App now β€” no need to wait for your physical card
  • Wait for your new physical credit card delivery (currently out for delivery)
  • Activate your physical card via the NBF Direct App upon receipt
  • Update any recurring payments linked to your old card after activation (if required)

How To Activate Your Card Digitally

Step 1 β€” Log in to the NBF Direct App

Step 2 β€” From the Home Page, tap the Credit Card icon

Step 3 β€” Select the card you wish to activate

Step 4 β€” Tap Activate Card, displayed on your card

Step 5 β€” Set up your Credit Card PIN, accept the Terms and Conditions, and submit your activation request

Once activated, tap the option at the bottom of the page to add your card to Apple Wallet or Google Wallet or enter your card credentials directly within the NBF Direct App.

Islamic Credit Card holders: Navigate to the Islamic Module within the NBF Direct App and follow the same steps above.

Your Credit & Service Impact

Your available credit limit will remain accessible during the transition.

After activating your new card:

  • Your available credit limit (credit limit minus outstanding balance) will be transferred from your old card and made available as a temporary limit
  • Your full available credit limit will be restored following successful system migration on the next day


Important Service Information During Transition (UAE Time)

To support the system upgrade, the following temporary service conditions will apply:

  • Card usage (purchases):
    You can continue to use your card for online and in-store purchases during this period
  • Credit card payment processing:
    Credit card payments made via digital channels, ATM, or branch will not be available from 10 July 2026, 4:00 PM until 11 July 2026, 5:00 PM
  • Card activation:
    New card activation will not be available on 11 July 2026 between 8:00 AM and 5:00 PM. Please ensure your card is activated before 8:00 AM on 11 July 2026.


If You Have Not Received Your Card

Please contact us immediately at 600 565551 if your card is not delivered before 10 July 2026.

Final Notes

  • Your new card will have a different card number
  • All recurring payments linked to your old card will stop once it is blocked
  • Please update your card details with merchants to avoid failed payments
  • All card services will be managed via the NBF Direct Mobile Banking App from 10 July 2026
  • Dynamic CVV will no longer be available from 10 July 2026. Transactions will continue to be secured via the NBF Direct App
